    Happy Saturday!

Well, Fiesta of the Spanish Horse is one week away. As usual, I am deciding on which acts to take at the last minute. I have some horses that are new to the shows for this year which I am very excited about such as an Andalusian stallion I bred, Don Luis and a Friesian/Paint gelding I purchased a few years back, Patas Blancas. They probably aren’t ready for Fiesta this year but they will be going to the World Equestrian Games! I guess that I will leave you all in suspense as to who I am taking next weekend. Ha!

This year, two young performers will be joining me at Fiesta of the Spanish Horse. One is my two-year old daughter, Katherine. She will be riding her miniature horse, Las Doradas Shock & Awe. The other is Paquito Herrera, the talented young singer that I have been working with. He has performed on stage with legends such as Vicente Fernandez and on TV numerous times but this will be his first large performance on horseback. He’s very excited! He’s an amazing kid and I have never met or heard a young singer that can sing like him. He recently released his first CD, Un Año Mas, so if you like what you hear at Fiesta, be sure to buy his CD!

I hope that you all support Fiesta, a wonderful benefit that supports cancer research. Buy a raffle ticket for the mini we donated, sponsor a class or come enjoy the show! We look forward to seeing you all there. Please stop by the barns to say hello!

    Saludos,
    Ramon

    Greetings Amigos!

On May 8th, I will be performing at the Fiesta of the Spanish Horse Extravaganza. I have been doing this event for a few years now for a few reasons… 1) It’s a fun event and I get to see my good friends such as trick rider Tad Griffith, 2) my wife enjoys showing Peruvian Horses and will be exhibiting horses for D Ranch this year, and most importantly, 3) it’s a great cause.

Fiesta of the Spanish Horse is a benefit for cancer research. I think that all of us have been affected by cancer in some form; my sister in law died last year of cancer. Research and care takes money and Asman & Associates has been putting on this show for 10 years to raise funds to find a cure.

This will be the third year that we have donated a miniature horse to raffle off to raise additional funds. The last two have gone to fantastic homes and their owners couldn’t be happier with them. This year, we have donated a beautiful black and white pinto mare: Sami’s Royal Diamond. She comes from Champion bloodlines and has been a wonderful producer for us. So if you’re looking for a mini, buy a ticket! Tickets are only $10 each or six for $50.

I encourage all of you to contribute  in any way you are able: sponsor a class, buy a raffle ticket, come to the show! I hope to see you all there.

    Saludos,
    Ramon

Welcome to my new website! We hope that you enjoy it and come back often as we are adding new things regularly.

This will be a busy year for me! Tomorrow morning, a segment aired on Despierta America (Univision) about Solvang and the valley I call home, Santa Ynez, California. I worked one of our Andalusian stallions, El Alcazar, in liberty, showed some of our miniature horses and, most importantly, had our daughter Katherine, riding the best little horse in the world, Las Doradas Shock & Awe. It always amazes us that he knows that Katherine is HIS person!

Some of you may know that I have been working with a very talented young singer that wants to sing on horseback, Paquito Herrera. He is a wonderful kid with a lot of talent. His abilities in music definitely cross over into his riding as he has great rhythm and a natural touch. Check out some of his performances listed in “my favorites” on my YouTube channel, RamonRBHorses. His first CD is coming out soon (Un Año Mas distributed by Morena Music) so be on the look out for it.

My first live performance this year will be in Indio, California at the huge horse show, HITS, on February 28th. They are celebrating Fiesta Day again and have invited me to help honor a leader in the Coachella Valley community, Dr. Raul Ruiz. HITS is always one of my favorite shows to perform at and I hope to see you there!

Well, I’m headed back out to the barn. We hope that you enjoy the website and keep coming back for more updates.

    Saludos,
    Ramon
